Triton Sculpture
Michael Aram's limited edition sculptures are handmade artistic explorations inspired by objects and ideas that capture Michael's imagination. These sculptures are limited editions of 136 pieces each, and each one is individually crafted so that no two are ever exactly alike.
Positioned as though he is at the crest of a wave, Triton powerfully blows on his conch shell as he holds his trident majestically. Half man, half fish, this merman is the Greek Messenger God of the sea. The music of his shell calms the waves and creates the roar of the ocean. Triton's trident symbolizes the past, present, and future, a trinity which characterizes the diversity and expansiveness of his energy and the power of the sea itself.
"My kids and I found a weathered conch shell on a beach, which was the model for the conch in this sculpture. I think of Triton as the guardian of the sea and dream of calm seas ahead for my family. His powerful trident navigates us safely into the future."
